As Lead Engineer for electrical and power systems you follow the chain from the string calculation to the point of connection without losing the thread. You own DC layout and string sizing, inverter selection and placement, LV and MV collection, cable sizing and routing, and earthing and lightning protection — and on the grid side, protection coordination, reactive power capability and grid code compliance. Much of the detail is produced by external design houses and suppliers; your job is to specify what they deliver, judge whether it is right, and take a position when two of them disagree.

Key responsibilities

  • Own DC layout, string sizing, inverter selection and placement
  • Own LV and MV collection, MV stations, cable sizing and routing
  • Own earthing and lightning protection design
  • Own protection coordination, reactive power capability and grid code compliance
  • Direct the load flow, short circuit and arc flash studies behind them
  • Own the electrical document set through client and independent engineer review
  • Manage the interface to the network operator’s substation and connection scope
  • Resolve the civil and control consequences of electrical routing decisions

About you

  • Typically 7–10 years of engineering experience — a centre of gravity, not a cut-off
  • Carried electrical design through to something that was actually energised
  • Strong grounding in protection, grid code compliance and power system studies
  • Background may be EPC, owner’s engineering, a design consultancy, a utility, a DSO or TSO, an IPP or industrial power systems
  • Works across the edges of the discipline rather than issuing the drawing and moving on
  • Additional strength in control systems, IT/OT or civil works is welcome
  • Fluent in English; Danish useful but not required
  • Willing to travel to project sites and design partners across Europe

Why join Technica

  • Exposure to owners, investors and EPC decision-makers
  • Work across both renewable energy and data center projects
  • A lean, experienced structure with fast decision-making
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Strong opportunities for professional and personal development
