As Lead Engineer for SCADA, IT/OT and plant control you own the system that is usually designed last, by the fewest people, under the most schedule pressure — and then tested hardest at handover. You own the SCADA architecture, the power plant controller and its grid code functions, the communications topology and IT/OT segregation, and the FAT, SAT and commissioning programme that has to prove all of it works. You coordinate that across inverter manufacturers, the controller supplier, the grid operator, the aggregator and the O&M organisation, each with their own assumption about whose protocol is the standard.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the SCADA architecture and the power plant controller
  • Own grid code control functions — active and reactive power setpoints, frequency response, voltage control
  • Own metering and protection signalling
  • Own communications topology, fibre routes and redundant connectivity
  • Define IT/OT segregation, remote access and interfaces to MV equipment and field sensors
  • Own monitoring and data flows to the owner’s platform
  • Own the FAT, SAT and commissioning programme
  • Get control requirements into the civil and electrical packages early, in language those disciplines will act on

About you

  • Typically 5–10 years of engineering experience — a centre of gravity, not a cut-off
  • Made a control system work in the field, not only specified one on paper
  • Experience across control systems, OT networks, SCADA integration or plant commissioning
  • Comfortable reconciling mixed protocol estates such as IEC 61850 and Modbus
  • Background may be renewable energy, utilities, industrial automation, mission-critical facilities, process industry or telecoms
  • Tests rather than trusts incomplete supplier documentation
  • Fluent in English; Danish useful but not required
  • Willing to travel to project sites and design partners across Europe

Why join Technica

  • Direct ownership of real projects — you lead, not just support
  • Exposure to owners, investors and EPC decision-makers
  • Work across both renewable energy and data center projects
  • A lean, experienced structure with fast decision-making
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Strong opportunities for professional and personal development

Technica is a hands-on project delivery partner for critical infrastructure.
